My Coraline obsession

I would have to confess that at the moment, "Coraline" is by far my favorite movie. I've been watching it over and over again on a regular basis (we're talking at least 3 times a week). Everything about this movie is pure magic.

The story, visuals, soundtrack, etc., is absolutely amazing. I get the goosebumps every time I watch it. And I have to say, I love the "Other Mother". She cooks breakfast foods for dinner, makes cool clothing, and is always cheerful. If I were Coraline, I would have sewn the button eyes .

The 3 wonder scenes were excellent. Bobinski's circus scene with the jumping mice and music was absolutely phenomenal. Just what a circus should be. The cannonball cotton candy, ferris wheel popcorn server were pure genius!

I think if I ever had an attic, I would decorate it this way. Maybe my enclosed back porch. Hmmm.... The eccentricity of all the characters was interesting. Especially Spink and Forcible, (voices played by French & Saunders, two of my favorite comedic actresses), who were hilarious and over the top.

It's such a modern day "Alice in Wonderland" kind of story/movie. Neil Gaiman always delivers on a good story and it's so wonderful that the movie made it even more so with new additions (like Wybie!). On a closing note, you have to visit the Coraline website and let the circus mice spell your name!

Portable Quotables

My new book, "Portable Quotables" is now available on Amazon and my Etsy shop. I'm really pleased at the way it turned out. The collection of 14 collages took me about a year and a half to complete. It was a challenging yet rewarding process. Lots of happy accidents. Here is the front cover and some sample pics of the book. Enjoy!
